When Amanda and Alissa began planning their wedding, they could not legally marry in their adopted hometown of Washington, DC. Rather than wait for the city council to get it together, they decided to venture to a gay-friendly place and chose Stamford, Connecticut – the closest town where they could legally marry.

Because so many family and friends wanted to share in their special day, they arranged for charter buses to take everyone from DC to Stamford and back for a two-day, two-city wedding event. The amount of love and support they received during the journey was unbelievable and served as the inspiration for lovebus events & design.

Now that same-sex marriage is legal in Washington,DC, Alissa is putting her event planning experience to work and helping couples plan memorable weddings and commemorate other special occasions. Whether you live in or want to travel to DC to celebrate your relationship, lovebus events & design is excited to work with you.
